John Bearden is the Chief Banking Officer at Thread Bank. Early in 2021 John joined a small group of banking, private equity and venture capital veterans to recapitalize a small East Tennessee bank previously known as Civis Bank. The team launched an embedded banking platform to serve small businesses and financial technology companies by equipping partners with access to bank deposit, loan, and payment products and services.
John previously served as the Nashville Market President for Renasant Bank, a role which brought him back to Nashville in 2019. Prior to Renasant, John spent 10 years in capital markets at Stifel Financial and Sterne Agee advising banks in mergers and acquisitions, fixed income and balance sheet management. John began his career in corporate and investment banking at SunTrust in Atlanta after attending the University of Georgia.
